wanted to show the contrast of birds flying away
while the fighter jets pilot their way
to fight for a lost cause.
hmmm inspired by the opening of AKIRA.
heard they gonna make a live action one...

personal project done in my spare time.
i've always been a huge guyver fan since secondary school.
imho viggo mortenson would be an excellent choice
to play richard guyot, a strong actor who can play
a protagonist and antagonist as well.
the guyver universe is created by yoshiki takaya.
David Cronenberg and eastern promises
had a huge influence in creating this image.
will update more perhaps.
archanfel, hamilcar barcus and aptom's on the way

the war journalist

even though we were tasked to do designs
for props and equipment for a war journalist
and finally a vehicle, i felt it was very necessary
to come out with a character first who was going to use them.
in this case for a war journalist
i referenced different actual war journalists but settled
on a fashion photographer by the name of terry richardson.
i've liked his work ever since
i took fashion photography in my first design school.
terry's crazy, awesome and totally wicked!
i also wanted a character that could fit into the whole district 09 universe.

design 01 finals. i picked a war journalist theme
to do some designs for a vehicle that a war journalist would use,
in my mind i wanted to do it in such a way that it would fit
the art direction of what "district 09" would use.
greg broadmore was definitely a huge influence on this.
kobayashi is a homage to the film "the usual suspects."
and KNN ... well u know what it means...
